What people are saying about CCES

Clergy Testimonials

“Becky Stambaugh is the real deal. She creatively integrates her knowledge and experience in a way that infuses faith formation with relevance and renewal. Becky and I worked together for 4 years in a congregation that was undergoing major shifts and challenges. Becky was able to develop leaders and create dynamic curricula for Christian Education. Becky also created a successful Confirmation program that benefited from her down-to-earth way of engaging teens and creating spaces for faith exploration.
Are you wondering how to get a ministry started or to move into a new chapter of ministry? Becky can help to sort through the particulars of your context and work with you to create a path forward that bears fruit.”
Rev. Sarah Verasco, Senior Minister, United Church of Christ Longmont, CO

“Becky Stambaugh has an ability to engage confirmands with spiritual depth, cultural awareness, humor, and grace. Beyond her gift of teaching and interacting, she is approachable, organized, detailed, and thorough. She makes a difference in the lives of youth.”
Rev. Dr. Ginger Brasher-Cunningham, Lead Minister, First Church Guilford, CT

Colleague Testimonials

“Becky is the most organized and caring person I have ever worked with. Becky’s creative programming gives you a glimpse of her artistic talents and her teaching skills. She has taught me so much about leading and keeping things documented while also being someone to dream and grow and create new ideas with!
Becky is passionate about teaching faith formation.”
Judi Wallace, Faith Formation Colleague

“Becky is a gifted, creative, and theme-inspired educator. She works her ‘magic’ through systematic presentations and collaborative discussions, weaving in the arts to help make the desired outcome a wholistic experience for the head, heart, and spirit. Becky is a valued instructor in our Faith Formation Leadership Program where she not only teaches and guides the students, she also inspires them to think and move beyond their ‘job’ to make it a true ministry. I highly recommend Becky to all who need their ministries ignited.”
Debbie Gline Allen, Minister of Faith Formation, Southern New England Conference United Church of Christ

”I had the pleasure of serving in a church with Becky as she was the Director of Youth Ministry and I was the Director of Music and Worship Leader. Becky’s style of collaboration is one of clear communication, thoughtful discussion, and a commitment to the best possible outcome for all. Her heart of service and compassion always comes to the forefront of everything she does, and it is woven through her work and ministry. Becky has a gift of relating to people where they are, and she listens better than most ministers I have known. Becky is a meticulous planner, and her attention to detail coupled with her passion for faith formation make for a truly remarkable combination.”
Jennifer Sisco, Minister of Music, Trinity Episcopal Church, Newtown, CT

Congregant Testimonials

“My husband and I have been involved in church life since we were children. There are very few people that have made a lifelong impact on us; Becky is one of them. Becky’s relationship as the lead Sunday school teacher with our daughter in her elementary years has made a lasting impact on her life to this day. We are grateful to Becky for instilling in our daughter a deep love for God. The depth of her talent, knowledge and experience is only outweighed by her love and compassion for children.”
George and Angela Bellias

“My son was in Sunday school led by Becky and I was struck by her warmth, intelligence and prayerful flair each time she shared a children’s sermon - she is a terrific storyteller with a strong presence and an articulate, deeply kind ministry. I am grateful his life was touched by her connection to holiness.”
Julie Fitzpatrick

”I remember back at the ‘10:16’ moments (Children’s Sermons) with our younger kids in the Christian Education program, and always admired how Becky was able to make that time easy enough to understand for the children but engaging for the adults. Regarding confirmation, I have a been a sponsor five times now, and for me being part of that process with Becky at First Church, the message that was always given to the youth in the confirmation program was the UCC tagline: ‘No matter who you are, or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here.’ Teen years and confirmation can be a bit of a confusing time. I think they feel they need an exact answer as to where they are on their spiritual journey, and it was really important that Becky would continue to drive the message home to them that they were all not going to be in the same place. Wherever they are is okay with God, and everyone else in the congregation.”
